Washington, D.C. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has issued a Federal Register notice proposing to further delay the effective date of the Final Rule, Strengthening Wage Protections (i.e. prevailing wage calculation method from the OES source) for the Temporary and Permanent Employment of Certain Aliens in the United States, for a period of eighteen months or until November 14, 2022. The Department has also proposed corresponding delays to the rule’s transition dates. The Department invites public comment on the proposed delay on or before April 21, 2021.
Earlier, the DOL had announced the delay until May 14th, 2021. Initially the final rule was set to take effect on March 15, 2021.
